A pickup truck driver appeared to have escaped with only cuts and moderate pain after his vehicle was struck by a driver running a red light in La Palma early Tuesday morning. The truck burst into flames upon impact but the driver was able to escape serious injury and exit his vehicle.
Police said the truck exited the 91 Freeway at 2 a.m. and had the green light to turn onto Orangethorpe Avenue. A sedan failed to stop at a red light and smashed into the pickup. The driver of the pickup truck, as well as the sedan’s driver and passenger, were treated at the scene for their injuries and later taken to local hospitals
